CNC Mill

Have you ever won an epic night board game? Wanted to demonstrate that the victory in the wall of the living room? Well, with this instructable, you can build your board game wall mount itself that will be the envy of your guests and the pride of her family.

They are the same.
I am a geek board game and a fan of the CNC. After many settlers of Catan games, I decided to test my CNC knowledge and pay tribute to Catan. The Board of Directors in this instructable is 19 hexagons framed in a context of Hexagon 6 pieces with a backing sheet metal. All parts, including the parts of the frame have pockets for magnets. In addition, each piece of frame has endings of puzzle of man woman (to lock each piece together) and a slot for hanging the Board mounted (like a plate) game. The beauty of my design is that the final assembly is never permanent and anytime a mounting in the wall Board, you can replace all parts and having a new game!

did I mention that he carved pieces of wood with my House mill made of CNC and laser had designs with CNC laser engraving of a friend?

What you'll learn.
These instructions use Hexagon shapes. However, with imagination you can apply these instructions to any design provided you have a framework. You will learn:
(1) Tools, materials and selection of wood for CNC CNC milling & Engraving Laser
(2) Design for CNC milling and CNC Laser Engraving
(4) A basic understanding of working wood
(5) The operation of the mill of CNC tips.
(6) Operation tips CNC laser.
(7) How to move and set up a team project to another using templates
(8) Basic wood and clear coat grease

Necessary tools
CNC mill (at least 4 inch Z axis travel, I'm guessing yours has a spindle/router, mine is 2 Ridgid Router from Home Depot.)
Laser machine CNC (with a focus on at least one-inch Z)
6 Jointer "wide (bench mounted or stand, not a hand jointer) *"
Planer 13 "wide (bench mounted or stand, not a hand brush) *"
Table saw *
Grinder (hand is better)
Sander with Sander Radial (mounted Bank is better)
Hot glue and hot glue gun
Clamps (big spring are best for this)
Digital caliper
Measuring tape
Triangular file
1/4 "diameter dowels (what the glycemic index measuring 5.9 mm but whatever.)"
3/8 "Carbide end mill (cut) (or any large carbide for rough work cutter)
1/8 "Carbide end mill (cut) (or any less for finer work Carbide Burs)
Router bit carbide 60 degree V-Groove
Hammer
Shank 1/4 "(percussion)
Dust mask
Eye protection (sunglasses or goggles)
Hearing protection
Push sticks *
Cotton rags (can be old clothes that are clean! Preferably clothing that has gone through many washings, brand new clothes get Viviana, not use towels or the inside of a sock by Viviana reasons.)
Air brush / system of air gun (if you decide to go this route)

Materials
... Of abundant wood, see below for options
Wood glue
x sheet of MDF 2 1/2 "or 3/4" thick and as wide as the bed of the CNC mill
x 5 1/4 MDF sheet "(o aprox. 4 mm de espesor, no ir cualquier diluyente)"
x 27 magnets approximately 12mm in diameter.
Approximately 0.75 mm to 1 mm. sheet metal thickness
Wood oil or stain wood (my favorite is the Natural Danish oil to the cherry wood, this is what I used for this project and many others)
Wood sealer (water or oil, brush or air gun, your choice, I prefer to use airbrush for a streak-free look)
Semi gloss or shine full lacquer (for clear coating)
Lacquer reducer

Selection of wood for CNC milling & Laser Engraving
Hexagon frame parts should have a 'claw' grain when oiled and should stand out with a nice 3D raised pattern. Since the frame parts are also the main structure, the wood must be strong. Because frames patterns have raised wood it must be hard and easily mechanized without jumping out (this leaves out the most soft woods like pine). The wood must also be light in color and easy in textures (this will leave out Oak) that can be laser engraved easily.
1st choice Cherry!
2nd option Alder, birch, maple,(birch and Maple are hard on tools, Birch has a fantastic grain)
3rd choice Mohaganny, (dark hard wood see engraved laser)
option 4 oak (very porous and grainy. Use only if his engravings laser and patterns in relief are very large)

Internal hexagon tiles really should not have any motives in relief (your choice), but definitely need some pockets and bosses to handle parts of the game, possibly a sausage if you want to go that far. Above all, the material should be light in color and not very grainy because your board game players are going to have to see very clearly the engravings laser.
option 1 pine (very cheap and you can buy easily ready fact sheets)
2nd Baltic Birch plywood option (Note: use only thin wood with thick layers, layers tend to chip very easy so you use sharp tools for best results)

* If you can buy ready boards manufactured custom made based on the dimensions of step 2, already
* If you can, get the wood shop to cut (also known as ripping) the lengths of wood you need.
